Jimmy and Leslie Liautaud started the Liautaud Family Foundation with the primary mission of helping people help themselves. They donate to both national and local organizations that embody this mission. One of these organizations is Crisis Nursery, a nonprofit that provides 24-hour emergency care for children in order to prevent child abuse and neglect.
The Liautaud’s heard of Crisis Nursery’s need to complete a $1.9 million capital campaign and in early 2017, the Liautaud Family Foundation gave a $200,000 donation to the organization. A year later, moved by the work they were doing, the Foundation announced they would be matching all money pledged to Crisis Nursery up to $100,000 through June 2018, which was quickly met, closing out the first phase of the campaign.
The donations made by the Liautaud Family Foundation and others helped complete the production of the playground and begin other expansion projects. Family is the most important thing to Jimmy and Leslie and when they heard about the Crisis Nursery’s financial situation, it was a quick and easy decision to do what they can to support the Nursery’s mission of keeping families together.
